Gonda: Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Inter College (Thomson), Gonda, organised a grand felicitation ceremony to honour students who excelled in the High School and Intermediate examinations of 2026. The event celebrated academic excellence and encouraged students to pursue higher goals through dedication and hard work.
The ceremony was attended by Gonda Sadar MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh as the chief guest, while District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Also present were the institution’s Manager S.P. Mishra, management committee members T.P. Singh, Basant Shukla and Bhagwati Prasad Pandey, Principal Rajkaran Verma, members of the teaching staff, parents and a large number of students.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh urged students to remain committed to hard work, discipline and their academic goals, describing education as the strongest foundation for success in life. He also announced a special initiative under which high-mast lights would be installed in the villages of meritorious students from his Assembly constituency in recognition of their achievements. The announcement was greeted with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan encouraged students to dream big and strive for excellence. She highlighted the benefits of the Abhyudaya Coaching Scheme, a government initiative that provides free coaching and guidance for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE, SSC and UPSC. She urged aspiring candidates to register for the programme and make full use of the opportunity to achieve their career aspirations.
During the ceremony, outstanding performers in the 2026 board examinations were honoured with certificates of appreciation and mementoes.

In the High School category, Saurabh Kumar Srivastava secured the highest marks with 94.67 per cent, followed by Ram Badal with 88.33 per cent and Smart Tiwari with 86.83 per cent.
Among Intermediate students, Ujjwal Singh scored 86.40 per cent, Vishnu Prakash 86.20 per cent, Virendra Kumar 85.40 per cent, Durgesh Kumar Tiwari 85.00 per cent, Akhil Srivastava 84.00 per cent, and Surya Prakash Yadav 82.60 per cent.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from the school management, which congratulated the award-winning students and wished them success in their future academic and professional pursuits. The event reinforced the values of academic excellence, healthy competition and dedication to learning, inspiring students to continue striving for higher achievements.
