Man Arrested for Forging Documents to Illegally Register Land in Malihabad

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested an accused involved in a land fraud case in the Malihabad area of Lucknow, where forged documents were used to transfer ownership of land.

According to officials from Malihabad Police Station, the case was registered on January 17, 2026, based on a written complaint filed by the victim. An FIR (No. 0010/2026) was lodged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Naeem Ahmad alias Mohammad Naeem and his associates.

Details of the Fraud

During investigation, it was revealed that the accused, a 55-year-old resident of Kasmandi Kala village, conspired with co-accused to fraudulently acquire land located in Kithaipara village. The land (Gata No. 266s), measuring approximately 0.498 hectares, was targeted through a pre-planned conspiracy.

Police found that the actual landholder, Rajkumar Singh, has been missing for a long time, while co-owner Jeenat Muqeed had already passed away. Taking advantage of this, the accused allegedly arranged impersonators to pose as the real owners and executed a forged sale deed in his own name on November 26, 2024.

Modus Operandi

The accused deliberately prepared fake and fabricated documents and used them to register the land illegally. Investigation also revealed that the payment mentioned in the registry was not actually made in full, indicating clear intent to commit fraud.

Following the fraudulent registration, the accused, along with his associates, attempted to take illegal possession of the land and allegedly threatened the complainant.

Arrest and Further Action

During questioning, the accused confessed to the crime. Based on available evidence, he was arrested on April 20, 2026, and is being produced before the court for further legal proceedings. Police are continuing efforts to trace and arrest other individuals involved in the case.
