Lucknow: As New Year’s Eve approaches, Lucknow Police have ramped up security measures across the city to ensure a safe and orderly celebration. Under the guidance of senior officers, multiple police units, including those in Gomti Nagar Vistar and Aminabad, have initiated checking drives in key public areas.
In Gomti Nagar Vistar, the operation is being conducted under the supervision of DCP East Shashank Singh and led by Inspector Sudhir Awasthi. Inspections have been intensified around Janneshwar Mishra Park, a popular gathering spot, with action taken against vehicles parked haphazardly and drivers found under the influence of alcohol.
Similarly, Aminabad Police, under the directives of DCP Central Raveena Tyagi and led by Inspector Sunil Kumar Azad, have focused their efforts near the old RTO office. Several violators have been fined for improper parking, and drunk drivers are facing strict legal action.
Specialized squads, including the Bomb Squad and Dog Squad, are actively involved in ensuring comprehensive safety checks. Police officials have appealed to the public to celebrate responsibly, avoid drunk driving, and cooperate with the authorities to usher in the New Year peacefully.
