Lucknow Metro’s Lost and Found Cell Returns Bag Containing ₹50,000 to Passenger

Lucknow: The smart security system of Lucknow Metro and the advanced CCTV cameras installed in the station premises and trains, lost items of passengers are being promptly returned to their rightful owners. Today, a bag containing ₹50,020 in cash along with other items such as two passports, one headphone, one pair of glasses, and a charger, was safely returned to a passenger by the Metro staff at the CCS Metro Station.

On 28th November 2024, a metro passenger had accidentally left his bag at the baggage scanning machine at CCS Airport Metro Station. When security personnel noticed the bag unattended for a long time, they immediately secured it in the station control room. The station controller checked the bag and found ₹50,000 in cash, two passports, and other important items. The passenger contacted the station on 29th November to report the lost bag, and after verification, the bag was safely returned to him.

It is noteworthy that since the launch of passenger services, Lucknow Metro’s Lost and Found Cell has successfully returned nearly ₹43.50 lakh in cash, 192 laptops, and 720 smartphones to passengers.

On this occasion,  Sushil Kumar, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC), said, “Ensuring the safety of passengers and meeting their expectations is our top priority. Every corner of Lucknow Metro is under CCTV surveillance. With 50-60 CCTV cameras at each station and 24 cameras on the trains, we maintain strict monitoring. We will continue to make efforts to provide world-class facilities to our passengers.”
