Lucknow: Lucknow Police has arrested four accused while busting a false murder attempt case. In this case, the victim had hatched a criminal conspiracy by getting himself shot.
On 27 November 2024, Arun Kumar Maurya (victim) informed the police that some unknown person shot him near Bajpur Gangaura turn. The police immediately registered a case on this information. During the investigation, it was revealed that Arun Kumar, along with his accomplices, had got himself shot. The purpose of this was to implicate his wife’s male friend in a false case.
According to the information received, there was a family dispute going on between Arun Kumar and his wife for a long time. Their relationship had soured due to a male friend of the wife. After a quarrel and dispute with the wife, she went to her maternal home. Arun then filed a case in the court against his wife and her male friend.
In this effort, Arun along with his associates hatched a conspiracy. He planned on 26 November 2024 in village Pilehti in Barabanki and shot himself so that his wife’s friend could be implicated.
On the information of the informer, four accused were arrested during checking at Karimnagar intersection on 28 November 2024. 315 and 12 bore pistols, live and empty cartridges were recovered from them.

This case was revealed by a joint team of DCP North and Mahigwan police station. The officers included in the team were Ravindra Singh, Rahul Tiwari, Abhishek Rai and officers and personnel of the Crime Surveillance Team. Police said that the case was solved after thorough investigation and evidence collection. The criminal history of the accused is being investigated. All the accused have been sent to judicial custody.
