Kriti Mahila Mandal Empowers Young Women Through Self-Employment

In a significant step towards women’s economic empowerment, the Sugandha Mahila Samiti of NCL’s Jhingurda Project has extended support to local young women under the Kriti Mahila Mandal’s “Ek Kadam” campaign. The initiative aims to create sustainable self-employment opportunities for members of the Rani Durgavati Self-Help Group (SHG).

With support from the Municipal Corporation, the group has been allotted a shop at the Jhingurda Cooperative to operate and expand its business. The facility will serve as a dedicated outlet for products and services such as jute handicrafts, tailoring, and beauty parlour activities.

The shop was inaugurated in the presence of Kriti Mahila Mandal President B.K. Durga, Vice Presidents Namrata Kumar, Sheela Dwivedi, and Ruby Jaiswal, along with other members.

Beyond providing infrastructure, the Samiti will offer skill development training, marketing assistance, and support in accessing bank credit and e-commerce platforms. Around 10 to 12 young women are currently associated with the group, which produces high-quality jute products at affordable prices. The initiative is expected to enhance their income, strengthen financial independence, and contribute to the economic well-being of their families
