Rome: A Catholic school teacher in Italy has been suspended after being discovered working as a model on the adult content platform OnlyFans. The 20-year-old teacher, Elena Maraga, was identified by a parent who spotted her on the website. The parent then shared the discovery with others through WhatsApp group chats and Facebook, sparking outrage among the school community.
According to a report by The Telegraph, a group of parents formally complained to the school administration, which led to Maraga’s suspension. However, she has strongly opposed the decision, arguing that her personal activities outside of school hours should not affect her job.
Maraga Defends Her Choices
Responding to the suspension, Maraga stated that she earns around €1,200 from her teaching job, which she described as a temporary position. She explained that financial instability had pushed her to consider alternative career options.
“I know many friends who earn far better than I do on these platforms. I take great pride in my body, which I have worked hard to maintain, and I enjoy showcasing it,” she said.
Italian media reports indicate that Maraga holds a degree in science and has five years of experience working at a Catholic nursery school. Despite the controversy, she remains firm in her stance, questioning whether her personal choices should have any bearing on her professional role as an educator.
