Indian Veterinary Research Institute Organises Awareness Programmes Under World Environment Day 2026 Pre-Campaign

Bareilly: A series of awareness and environmental protection activities are being organised at Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) as part of the pre-campaign for World Environment Day 2026. The programmes are being conducted in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission from May 15 to June 5, 2026.

As part of the campaign, the institute has been organising tree plantation drives, environmental awareness programmes, quiz competitions, cleanliness campaigns, and several public outreach activities for students. The initiative aims to promote environmental consciousness among youth and society while encouraging collective efforts toward building a cleaner and greener environment.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. S. K. Saha, who highlighted the growing importance of environmental conservation in today’s time. Addressing participants, he said that increasing levels of e-waste and carbon dioxide emissions have emerged as major contributors to environmental pollution.

He urged people to adopt responsible environmental practices, ensure proper management of electronic waste, and actively participate in tree plantation efforts to help protect nature and ecological balance.

A large number of employees, students, and participants attended the programmes and enthusiastically took part in the awareness activities. Participants also pledged to contribute towards environmental conservation and sustainable living practices.

The organisers expressed gratitude to all participants and staff members for their active involvement and stated that similar awareness programmes would continue to be organised in the future to strengthen environmental responsibility among the public.
