Lucknow: Under the chairmanship of Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor of State Universities, Anandiben Patel, a meeting was held regarding the status and progress of the newly established universities of the state, Maharaja Suheldev State University Azamgarh, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University Aligarh and Maa Shakumbhari University Saharanpur.
While chairing the meeting, the Chancellor directed the implementation of Samarth Portal by the universities as well as releasing the examination results within a maximum of 21 days. She said that along with academic and extension activities in universities, best practices should also be promoted. The Chancellor directed to work towards making the villages and Anganwadi centres adopted by the universities well-equipped and to do regular monitoring in this regard.
The Governor directed to follow the rules for fee determination in all the colleges affiliated to the newly established universities, appoint coordinators as per all criteria for NAAC evaluation, and provide quality education. She also directed to ensure the availability of CCTV cameras at the examination centres.
In the crucial meeting, the Governor directed the Vice Chancellors of the University to visit the university campus and establish a dialogue with the students to know their problems and resolve them. The Governor directed to prepare a report of the work plan of the concerned universities for the coming years in the form of a vision document. She said that shady plants should be planted in the university campus and the fully constructed building in the university should be made visible through the depiction of related pictures, symbols and related activities.
She directed to make proper arrangements for cleanliness, management of drinking water etc. in the university campus. The Governor encouraged the girls in the girls’ hostel to cook their own food once a month. She also appealed to the students and teachers to actively participate in cleaning the university campus once a week.
The Chancellor, while addressing the Vice Chancellors present in the meeting, said that if all the Vice Chancellors work actively, then a good message will go to the students about the work and the university. She said that the Vice Chancellor should meet the students once a week without an appointment, know their problems, take their feedback and work on it.
In the said meeting, the Vice Chancellors of the concerned universities gave presentations in the context of their respective universities regarding the admission process of the university, examination, evaluation and status of examination results, appointment and promotion in relation to creation of posts, status of implementation of Samarth Portal in the university, physical progress of construction work, status of court cases, expansion and social activities of the university, redressal of various complaints, administrative progress, progress in relation to digitization online portals, status of scholarship, academic work progress, operation of courses under National Education Policy, Women’s Studies Center and various works.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Special Officer Education Dr. Pankaj L. Johny, Vice Chancellor Maharaja Suheldev University Azamgarh, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, Aligarh, Professor Chandrashekhar, Vice Chancellor Maa Shakumbhari University Saharanpur, Professor Hriday Shankar Singh and university officials etc. were present.
