Governor Advocates Empowerment of Artisans and Women

Lucknow: During the handicraft exhibition organized by Gramshree and Craftroots at Safed Baradari, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Governor. Anandiben Patel highlighted the crucial role of artisans and women in driving the nation’s progress. Addressing the gathering, she stressed that the country can advance only when the privileged extend support to the underprivileged, particularly skilled craftsmen and women.

The Governor emphasized the importance of women stepping out of their homes to work alongside men, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowerment. She praised women’s growing roles, such as flying planes in the armed forces, as milestones of change.

She proposed creating a dedicated university for artisans and craftsmen to provide certification and advanced design training, enabling them to enhance their skills. She urged universities to adopt villages and support artisans with innovative designs and marketing strategies.

The Governor also shared her admiration for the bamboo art of Assam and encouraged promoting local crafts nationwide. Her remarks underscored the value of preserving India’s heritage while empowering communities.
