Gonda: Gonda is set to witness a major religious gathering as the Shri Mehandipur Balaji Parivar prepares to organise Shri Hanumant Katha and Hanumant Mahayagya from November 12 to 20. A 51-kundiya Hanumant Mahayagya will be one of the major attractions of the nine-day spiritual event.
A preparatory meeting and press conference were organised at Shri Mahadev Lawn on Sunday, where members of the organising committee shared details of the programme and appealed to devotees to participate in large numbers.
Committee member Prateek Tandon said a grand Kalash and Nishan Shobha Yatra would be taken out on Thursday, November 12, from the Purani Hanumangarhi Temple. The procession will pass through the city’s प्रमुख routes before concluding at the main venue, Shri Mahadev Lawn, Bahraich Road, Gonda.
Committee member Aniruddh Singh Shahi said the Shri Hanumant Katha would be organised daily from November 13 to 20, between 4 pm and 7 pm.
Organiser Gaurav Rastogi said a 51-kundiya Hanumant Mahayagya would also be conducted every day from 7 am to 10 am. The rituals will be performed under the guidance of Yagyacharya Pawan Bajpayee, who will arrive from Naimisharanya in Sitapur.
Committee member Vijay Mishra Pradhan said special arrangements had been made for devotees. For the first time, the organisers have introduced an option allowing devotees to participate as yajmans for a single day, enabling them to perform the religious rituals according to their convenience.
The nine-day programme will conclude on November 20 with a grand Sawamani Bhandara.
Members of the Shri Mehandipur Balaji Parivar, including Sunil Kumar Rastogi, Shanu Gupta, Somnath Rastogi, Anurag Sharma, Ajay Kasodhan, Shubham Kasodhan, Satyam Gupta, Chandan Arya, Sandeep Tandon, Rohit Kashyap, Anoop Bansal, Aman Verma and Nikhil Kasodhan, are actively involved in preparations for the event.
