Lucknow: Students of Goel Institute of Technology and Management (GITM) have achieved a major milestone by securing first position in the Council of Science and Technology Uttar Pradesh (CST UP) Project Grant Scheme 2026, winning a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.
The winning project, developed by the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) department, stood out among top entries from across the state, reflecting the institute’s strong focus on innovation, research, and practical problem-solving.
A total of four projects from GITM reached the final stage of the competition, representing diverse engineering streams, including Electronics and Communication (EC), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and two projects from Information Technology (IT), alongside the winning EEE project.
The journey to success began in January 2026, when these projects were shortlisted among the top 100 entries across Uttar Pradesh under the prestigious scheme. Selected teams received full funding support from CST UP to develop their ideas into working prototypes, which were later evaluated at the state-level finals.

The top finish highlights the technical expertise, creativity, and innovation-driven approach of GITM students, who competed against some of the best young minds in the state.
The institute’s management and faculty members expressed pride in the achievement, congratulating the students and their mentors for their dedication and hard work. They noted that the guidance and continuous support provided by faculty played a crucial role in refining the projects for the final stage.
The accomplishment not only brings recognition to the EEE department but also serves as an inspiration for the wider student community to pursue excellence in science, technology, and research-driven innovation.
