Gender Sensitization Workshop discusses the prevalence of biases

Lucknow: A gender sensitization workshop was organized in the Social Work Department under the joint aegis of the Social Work Department by the members of the Legal Aid Center, a prestigious institution of the Faculty of Law, Lucknow University. This workshop was organized under the leadership of Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. (Dr.) BD Singh, Chairman of the Legal Aid Center, Dr. Abhishek Kumar Tiwari, and Chairman of the Social Work Department, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Dwivedi. Earlier, this workshop was successfully organized by the Center in the Hindi Department and the Department of Public Administration.

The workshop was started by Harsh Pandey, a senior member of the Legal Aid Center, explaining the objective of the center and explained gender sensitization in detail. He explained the need to eliminate the feeling of gender-based bias. Further in the workshop, Shivangi Singh explained about the POSH Act, Bhanwari Devi Case 1992 and Vishakha Guidelines. After this, Anjsi Mishra explained about the complaint process and the internal complaint committee established in various organizations, schools and colleges. Finally, the center member Shubhraj Singh explained about Equal Remuneration Act 1976, Menstruation Bill and Hindu Section Act (Amendment 2005).

Center member Ira Upadhyay expressed gratitude to all the teachers and attendees and concluded the workshop successfully. The program was successfully concluded with the enthusiasm and active participation of the attendees.
