Lucknow: The Sushant Golf City Police Station of the capital Lucknow has busted a vicious gang of vehicle thieves. The police have arrested 5 members of this gang and recovered 8 stolen two-wheelers from their possession. Several cases were registered against these accused under serious sections. The arrested criminals were running criminal activities under the guise of different businesses.
Details of incidents:
Complaints of several incidents of vehicle theft were registered in the Sushant Golf City police station in the past. The major complaints among these were:
4 November 2024: Shivam Verma’s motorcycle (UP32 ML 4602) stolen from Cancer Institute campus.
26 October 2024: Abhishek Singh’s motorcycle (UP77F0453) stolen from the parking lot of Cancer Institute.
Cases were also registered in connection with other theft incidents.
A special team was formed under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police Kiran Yadav and Inspector Dhirendra Singh to investigate these incidents. After this, on the basis of information received from the informer, the police team raided an empty plot near the ISKCON temple and arrested five vicious thieves. The accused confessed during interrogation that they used to steal motorcycles from the parking lots of government and private institutions. They used to hide the stolen vehicles in the bushes and sell them when they saw an opportunity.
The police have seized 8 bikes, most of which are Hero Splendor and Bajaj Discover models. Some of the recovered vehicles have unclear numbers, while others were found to have fake number plates.
According to police officials, the gang used to target vehicles parked outside hospitals and government institutions. They used to sell the stolen vehicles to customers and share the money among themselves to fulfil their desires. The arrested accused have been sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway. Lucknow Police has advised citizens to be vigilant and park their vehicles at a safe place to avoid vehicle theft.

The Superintendent of Police had formed a special team for this major action. This team included:-

Constable: Manoj Yadav, Sahabdin, Akash Kumar, Pradeep Singh.
The police has taken important steps towards crime control in the city by taking prompt action against these criminals. All the accused are now in judicial custody and legal action will be taken against them.
