Rabupura: Renowned filmmaker and director Boney Kapoor visited the proposed site for the international film city in Sector 21 of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). During his visit, he engaged in discussions with farmers and assured them that the project would generate significant employment opportunities for the local youth. The farmers welcomed Kapoor with a bouquet and expressed their concerns regarding land compensation.
As per the scheduled program, Boney Kapoor arrived at the proposed film city site, where he was warmly received by the farmers and YEIDA officials. The officials briefed him on various aspects of the land, including connectivity to Mumbai, travel time, and distance. Kapoor lauded the farmers and emphasized that the film city would be developed with state-of-the-art infrastructure, making it an international-standard hub for film production. He further assured that the project would not only create ample job opportunities for local residents but also enhance the viewing experience for visitors coming to watch film shoots.
Farmers Demand Equal Compensation
During the interaction, the farmers raised concerns about the disparity in compensation for their land. They stated that while some farmers were given increased compensation, others received lower amounts, highlighting an inconsistency in the compensation policy. They urged the authorities to ensure that all farmers receive equal compensation along with residential plots. The farmers expressed their dissatisfaction over the dual policy being implemented for the same project. They also mentioned that while the Yamuna Development Authority is prepared to take possession of the land, the issues regarding equal compensation and residential plots remain unresolved.
The construction of the international film city is currently in progress, and Boney Kapoor assured that the public would soon get the opportunity to witness film shootings at the site.
