Mumbai: Actor Disha Patani has opened up about her experience working on Welcome to the Jungle, describing comedy as one of the most challenging genres in cinema and crediting some of Bollywood’s finest comic performers for helping her better understand the craft.
Fresh from the film’s success, Disha said that making audiences laugh requires precision, timing and authenticity. She noted that observing seasoned actors such as Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi and Johnny Lever on set proved to be an invaluable learning experience.
According to the actress, being part of a large-scale comedy featuring an ensemble cast was both exciting and enriching. She said the film offered a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s most accomplished performers while exploring a genre she greatly enjoys.
Reflecting on her approach to acting, Disha emphasised that she prefers focusing on delivering an honest performance rather than competing with fellow actors. She believes sincerity toward a character ultimately helps connect with audiences.

Since making her Bollywood debut with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Disha has built a diverse filmography that includes commercial entertainers and action-oriented projects such as Malang, Ek Villain Returns and Kalki 2898 AD.
Despite maintaining a strong social media presence, the actress describes herself as an introvert. She acknowledged that stepping into the public spotlight has not always been easy, but added that the challenges she has faced throughout her career have helped her grow stronger, more resilient and more appreciative of every opportunity.
Looking ahead, Disha revealed that she is keen to explore more layered and intense roles. While she feels naturally drawn to understated and emotionally grounded characters, she expressed particular interest in starring in psychological thrillers, character-driven dramas and action dramas, signalling a desire to expand her creative range in the years to come.
