Gonda: As part of the Uttar Pradesh Government’s ongoing initiative to strengthen public grievance redressal mechanisms, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Ashok Kumar, Devipatan Range, Gonda, attended the Thana Samadhan Diwas at Itiyathok Police Station in Gonda district on Friday. During the programme, he personally heard complaints and concerns raised by members of the public and directed officials to ensure their prompt and effective resolution.
Addressing police and revenue officials present at the event, the DIG emphasized the importance of timely, transparent, and quality disposal of public grievances. He instructed concerned officers from both departments to conduct on-site inquiries wherever necessary and ensure that all complaints received during the programme are resolved within the prescribed timeframe.
The DIG reiterated that grievance redressal should be carried out in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Uttar Pradesh Government and stressed that fairness, transparency, and sensitivity must remain central to the process. He warned that negligence or laxity at any level in handling public complaints would not be tolerated.
Inspection of Itiyathok Police Station
Following the grievance hearing session, DIG Ashok Kumar conducted a detailed inspection of the Itiyathok Police Station. During the inspection, he reviewed office records, assessed administrative functioning, and interacted with police personnel deployed at the station to gather information regarding day-to-day operations and law enforcement activities.
He also instructed the Station House Officer and other police officials to maintain effective law and order in the area and remain vigilant in addressing public safety concerns. The DIG emphasized the need for professional policing, prompt response to citizen complaints, and continued efforts to strengthen public confidence in the police administration.
Officials stated that Thana Samadhan Diwas serves as an important platform for resolving public grievances at the local level through coordinated action by police and revenue authorities, helping to ensure quick and satisfactory solutions to citizens’ concerns.
