Lucknow: The Shyam Dhwaja Yatra witnessed an overwhelming turnout as devotees, dressed in traditional attire, carried the sacred Shyam flag while singing and dancing to devotional hymns. The grand procession, organized by the Shyam Parivar, featured a chariot carrying an idol of Shyam Baba, surrounded by a vibrant display of colors, music, and unwavering faith.
According to Rupesh Agarwal, General Secretary of Shyam Parivar Lucknow, more than 2,500 devotees participated in the yatra, carrying the Shyam flag in reverence. The yatra commenced at 9 AM from the temple at Naka Chauraha, where the Nishan Dhwaja puja was performed in the presence of Shyam Parivar members and Uttar Pradesh Assembly MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora and his wife Bindu Bora. The procession passed through Aryanagar, Aishbagh Road, Fatehganj, Shri Ram Road, Kaiserbagh Chauraha, and Parivartan Chauraha, finally culminating at Shyam Temple on Birbal Sahni Marg at 2 PM.
Enchanting Bhajans Enthrall Devotees
Renowned bhajan singer Pawan Mishra led the congregation in soul-stirring devotional songs dedicated to Shyam Baba and other deities. The crowd swayed to the beats of popular bhajans, including ‘Kijo Kesari Ke Lal Mera Chhota Sa Kaam,’ ‘Aa Gaya Dar Par Tere Sunwayi Ho Jaye,’ and ‘Mera Haath Pakad Le Re Man Mera Ghabraye.’ Other mesmerizing renditions included ‘O Darji Sil De Nishan Mane Khatu Jana Hai,’ ‘Aao Sanwariya Sarkar,’ and ‘Holiya Mein Ude Re Gulal Shyam Ke Mandir Mein,’ filling the atmosphere with divine fervor.
Grand Welcome at Over 50 Locations
Along the entire route, the procession was welcomed with floral showers and refreshments at over 50 locations by traders, social organizations, and religious groups. While some distributed water, sweets, biscuits, and snacks, others adorned the devotees with flower petals as a mark of devotion and hospitality.
Devotees Gather from Across Lucknow
As the fervor of the Falgun month set in, the excitement of Khatu Shyam devotees grew exponentially. Chanting “Haare Ke Sahara Baba Shyam Hamare,” people of all ages, from children to the elderly, eagerly participated in the yatra, yearning for a glimpse of Shyam Baba.
Key organizers, including Acting President Sanjeev Agarwal, Treasurer Ashish Agarwal, Atul Agarwal, Sudhir Garg, Anurag Sahu, Shiv Singhania, Pradeep Bansal, Vikas Agarwal, Vijay Agarwal, Aditya Agarwal, Rishi Kapoor, Virendra Agarwal, Sudheesh Agarwal, Ganesh Agarwal, Pankaj Agarwal, and Shivam Dubey, were actively engaged in ensuring the yatra’s grandeur and success.
Falgun Festival on March 11
Rupesh Agarwal also announced that the Falgunotsav Sanwariya event will be held on March 11 at 7 PM. The grand celebration will feature renowned Shyam bhajan singers Gurpreet Singh and Rani Kaur from Kolkata. Additionally, a dance drama based on Shyam Baba’s divine plays will be performed by Kolkata’s Kavita Sharma and Bhaskar Group, promising an unforgettable spiritual experience for devotees.
