Gonda: Devipatan Division has secured the first position in Uttar Pradesh in the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) ranking for September 2026, recording a score of 91.82 per cent. The division comprises Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti and Balrampur districts.
The achievement comes amid intensified monitoring of public grievances and efforts to ensure that complaints are resolved substantively rather than merely closed on paper. The administration said the division’s performance has been supported by regular reviews, accountability of officials and direct feedback from complainants.

Under the supervision of Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal, the disposal of IGRS complaints across all four districts is being reviewed regularly. Officials have been instructed to ensure that the actual resolution of a complainant’s problem, and not just formal disposal of a complaint, forms the basis of redressal.
As part of the monitoring mechanism, the Divisional Commissioner personally contacts complainants on a random basis every month to obtain feedback on whether their grievances have actually been resolved. Cases where feedback indicates inadequate or formal disposal are reviewed, with accountability fixed and corrective action directed where necessary.

A special focus has also been placed on women’s grievances through the ‘Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad’ initiative. Conducted across Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti and Balrampur, the programme provides women and girls with a direct platform to raise their concerns before the administration. Officials are directed to address such complaints within a defined timeframe and in a quality-oriented manner.
Devipatan Division has maintained a strong performance in the IGRS rankings during 2026. It stood first in March and April, second in May, and again first in June, July, August and September.
Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal congratulated officers and employees of the division, stating that the ranking reflects the administration’s focus on responsiveness, accountability and timely grievance redressal. She directed officials to ensure that complainants receive not only information about disposal but also a genuine resolution of their problems.
