A cheque of ₹10 lakh given to the deceased’s mother
Lucknow: On September 1st, a tragic incident occurred at Kanchan Nagar Park in Shankar Purwa, where Abhishek Kumar lost his life due to an electric shock. This incident left the community in deep grief and raised serious concerns about public safety. Following this, Hon’ble Mayor Mrs. Sushma Kharkwal directed that all parks and open electrical wires in the city be secured to prevent such incidents in the future, ensuring no other life is lost. The meeting was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Lalit Kumar, along with local leaders and the public.
Financial Aid Given to the Family
In response, the Mayor visited Kanchan Nagar Park and met the grieving family, presenting them with ₹10 lakh as financial aid. She not only expressed her condolences but also listened to the local people’s concerns and directed officials to resolve these issues promptly.
Mayor Sushma Kharkwal stated that strict instructions have been given to the Municipal Corporation team to ensure that all electrical wires in parks and public spaces are secured as per safety standards. The Corporation will also soon inspect areas with exposed wires or hazardous equipment to prevent further incidents. She assured that this matter would be treated as a top priority.
The local community has expressed gratitude for the Mayor’s swift action, believing that this initiative will ensure greater safety in the future and reduce the rate of accidents in the city.
