The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 AM on January 9, 2025, at the 93rd Battalion CRPF camp in Ashiyana. Upendra Kumar Singh, while on duty, reportedly shot himself with his service rifle. Fellow personnel immediately rushed him to Lok Bandhu Hospital for medical attention. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to the Trauma Center at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
