Lucknow: A camp for hand and mouth hygiene was organized at the Rural Research Center under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Research Chair run in the Department of Social Work of Lucknow University. The program was presided over by Senior Professor of Social Work Department, Lucknow University.
Rupesh Kumar said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Research Chair, operated under the Department of Social Work, is continuously organizing the community at the Rural Research Center and providing awareness to the people of the community on health education and other important aspects through its social responsibility.
In the camp, Dental Surgeon Dr. Sadaf Siddiqui conducted oral examination of the children living in the community and told them the right way to maintain cleanliness of hands and mouth. Doctor Sadaf told the children that to avoid diseases, we should wash our hands with soap and water several times a day.
If soap is not available, hands should be kept clean by using hand sanitizer. Hand hygiene is very important to maintain good health. Even during the Corona period, people have come to know the importance of hand hygiene. Washing hands properly every day can be of great help in preventing diseases. World Hand Hygiene Day is celebrated every year on 5 May to make people aware about hand hygiene.

Regional Councilor Ranjit Singh was also present in the said camp, who in his statement praised the Social Work Department and the Research Chair and said that the department keeps fulfilling its responsibilities towards the society from time to time. Field Work Superintendent of the department Dr. Virendra Tyagi, Dr. Madhushikha Srivastava, Dr. Shivangi Prakash, Atul Kumar, primary school teacher Mohammad Obaid, MSW students Sanjay Kannaujia, Shivani, and students of the school were present in the camp.
