Commissioning Ceremony of the 7th Batch of BSc Nursing students of College of Nursing, Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow was held at the Officer Training College Drill Square of AMC Centre & College in Lucknow Cantonment on 08 Feb 2025.
Commissioning marks successful completion of four years of rigorous training as nursing cadets and entry into the professional journey as officers in the Military Nursing Service. Highlight of the event was the crisp marching display by the nursing cadets filled with pride, honour & a sense of accomplishment.
Lt Gen Mukesh Chadha, AVSM, SM, VSM, Chief of Staff (COS), Central Command, was the Chief Guest & Reviewing Officer for the Commissioning Parade. 40 Nursing Cadets were commissioned into Military Nursing Service by the Chief Guest accompanied by Maj Gen J Debnath, Commandant, Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow.
Brig Elsamma George, Brig MNS, Headquarters Central Command, administered the oath to the newly commissioned nursing officers, wherein they pledged to uphold the values of compassion, care and commitment in caring for the tri-services clientele and to go where ever ordered by air, land or sea. Col V Sugirtha, Principal, College of Nursing presented the achievements of the batch.
The outstanding students were felicitated by the Chief Guest. Lt Amritanshi Pandey was awarded the rolling trophy for Best Outgoing Nursing Cadet as well as for being adjudged as Best in Academics. The Gold Medal for securing First & Second position in final year University Exams was awarded to Lt Amala TS and Lt Surya Benny respectively. Lt Riya Gautam received the Rolling trophy for the Best Bedside Nurse.
Lt Gen Mukesh Chadha addressed the newly commissioned MNS Officers and urged them to embrace the ethos of the nursing profession so as to proudly carry forward the legacy of the Military Nursing Service.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, dignitaries from civil institutions and parents of the newly commissioned MNS officers.
