Mayor Sushma Kharkwal conducted a surprise inspection of Zone 7 before the rainy season and took a field review. In order to take stock of the status quo, Lohia Nagar, Shankarpurwa Second Ward, Indira Nagar Ward, Ismailganj Second Ward were inspected. During the inspection, many irregularities were found. These include the cleaning of drains not being satisfactory, sanitation arrangements not being strong, etc. On this, the Mayor directed the Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh to take action against the responsible Executive Engineer Vijendra Pal, Assistant Engineer, and the concerned Junior Engineer.
Regarding the cleaning of a drain near Adil Nagar Old Age Home in Shankarpurva II, the Executive Engineer who could not tell whether the cleaning of the drain was being done by the Engineering Department or the RR Department, instructions were given to take action.
At the same time, instructions were given to take action against the concerned contractors whose work of construction of these drains etc. was found to be unsatisfactory.
