Hathras: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 143 development projects worth ₹548 crore in the Sikandra Rao and Sadabad Assembly constituencies of Hathras district, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to inclusive development, infrastructure expansion, and public welfare.
Addressing a large public gathering after the launch of the projects, the Chief Minister said the state government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working with a clear focus on improving the lives of every section of society. He stated that the government considers the people of Uttar Pradesh as one family and is committed to ensuring that welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries without discrimination.
The projects unveiled during the event span multiple sectors, including infrastructure, roads, public facilities, healthcare, and urban development, and are expected to boost economic activity and improve quality of life across the region.
Welfare Benefits Distributed to Beneficiaries
During the programme, the Chief Minister distributed symbolic cheques, certificates, approval letters, house keys, and smartphones to beneficiaries of various government schemes. He also participated in traditional community welfare activities, including baby shower ceremonies for expectant mothers and annaprashan rituals for young children.
As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, he planted saplings and visited an exhibition showcasing government initiatives and development projects.
The Chief Minister also launched the National Pulse Polio Campaign in Hathras by administering polio drops to children and appealed to parents and healthcare workers to ensure complete immunization coverage across the district.
Development and Security Go Hand in Hand
Speaking about the region’s historical and cultural significance, Adityanath described Hathras as an important gateway to the Braj region and praised its contribution to India’s freedom movement. He also highlighted the district’s association with renowned humorist Kaka Hathrasi.
The Chief Minister emphasized that sustainable development is only possible in an environment of peace and security. He said the state’s strengthened law-and-order framework has helped create a safer atmosphere for women, traders, and investors.
According to him, improved security has played a crucial role in enabling economic growth, attracting investment, and fostering confidence among citizens.
Emerging Industrial and Agricultural Hub
Highlighting Hathras’ economic potential, Adityanath said the district has earned recognition for products such as asafoetida, ghee, butter, and jaggery, while farmers are increasingly being connected to value-added agricultural opportunities.
He noted that Hathras is rapidly emerging as an industrial destination, aided by improved connectivity through the Mathura-Bareilly four-lane corridor. The growing industrial ecosystem, he said, is generating new employment opportunities for local youth and strengthening the regional economy.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of food processing infrastructure, particularly for potato farmers. He said the establishment of processing centres would help increase farmers’ incomes, reduce dependence on cold storage facilities, and create a more efficient agricultural supply chain.
“Value addition and processing facilities can significantly improve returns for farmers while reducing post-harvest costs,” he said.
Infrastructure Expansion to Continue
Adityanath revealed that proposals related to roads, bridges, and flyovers submitted by local legislators are under active consideration and that funds for several projects will be released soon.

He also highlighted ongoing efforts to secure approvals and land allocation for key public infrastructure projects, including a medical college and a new bus stand in Sikandra Rao.
According to the Chief Minister, the expansion of industrial infrastructure in the region will create jobs and stimulate economic growth not only in Hathras but also in neighbouring districts such as Kasganj and Etah.
He further noted that the upcoming Employment and Industrial Zone named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is expected to provide skill development opportunities and connect young people with employment and entrepreneurship prospects.
Focus on Agricultural Innovation
The Chief Minister stressed that improving access to high-quality seeds remains essential for reducing cultivation costs and increasing agricultural productivity.
He highlighted recent initiatives aimed at strengthening agricultural research and innovation, including the approval of a regional centre of the International Potato Centre in Agra and the development of advanced rice seed varieties through the regional centre of the International Rice Research Institute in Varanasi.
These efforts, he said, will help farmers access better technologies and improve crop yields.
Inclusive Growth and Youth Empowerment
Adityanath reiterated that good governance translates into economic development, welfare delivery, employment generation, and social empowerment. He said the state government is committed to supporting farmers, entrepreneurs, women, and young people through targeted programmes and investments.
Highlighting the Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign, he said eligible young entrepreneurs are being provided interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh along with government-backed guarantees to help them establish businesses and become active contributors to the state’s growth.
He noted that the initiative is encouraging self-employment and nurturing a new generation of entrepreneurs across Uttar Pradesh.
Commitment to Balanced Regional Development
The Chief Minister underscored that the government’s development agenda extends to every district, tehsil, village, and citizen of the state. He said development cannot be selective and must reach all regions and communities equally.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the principle of inclusive growth, he stated that welfare initiatives and infrastructure investments are being implemented with a focus on the last person in the queue, in line with the philosophy of Antyodaya championed by Deendayal Upadhyaya.
The event was attended by Member of Parliament Anup Pradhan Valmiki, legislators Anjula Mahaur, Virendra Singh Rana, and Pradeep Kumar Singh, along with senior officials and local residents.
The ₹548-crore package of development projects is expected to significantly enhance infrastructure, connectivity, public services, and economic opportunities in Hathras and surrounding areas, further strengthening the district’s role in Uttar Pradesh’s growth story.
