Lucknow: After the successful landing of Mission Chandrayaan-3 on 23 August 2023, the said date has been declared as National Space Day in the whole of India.
In this sequence, the School of Geo Informatics Department of Remote Sensing Applications Center, Uttar Pradesh also celebrated a program on 23 August 2024.
The chief guest of the said program was the Director of center, Sheeldhar Singh Yadav IAS and Special Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, UP Government.
Under the main theme of the said program, “Scientific study of the moon and India’s Chandrayaan mission”, Dr. Sudhakar Shukla, Head of the Division, School of Geo-Informatics Division, R.S.A.C., U.P., delivered a lecture as a key-note speaker on the subject of the journey of Indian space science and talked about India’s progress in the field of space.
Dr. Sudhakar Shukla said in his lecture that since independence, the country has made unprecedented progress in the field of space science and today it is sending not only the satellites of the country but also satellites of other countries into their orbit with full efficiency.
Dr. Shukla further said that today India’s space program is an example for the whole world, which is taking the country to a new height. He addressed the students on the subject of National Space Day and gave detailed information about the M.Tech program run by this center and also stressed on the need to encourage more and more students to get higher education in remote sensing.
Students from various schools and colleges of Lucknow district participated in this program and displayed various types of posters and gave presentations. Various students expressed their views on the importance of space in the Hindi language and Geeta.
In Poster Song, first place was jointly secured by the students of Pioneer Montessori School, Jankipuram namely Pratyush Shukla, Diya, Anshika Verma and Shashank, second place was jointly secured by the students of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Women PG College namely Khushi Kannaji, Seema Maurya and Shivani and third place was secured by Aadya Singh, a student of CMS, Gomti Nagar, Campus-I.
In Masters Programme in Song, first place was secured by Diya, a student of Pioneer Montessori School, Jankipuram, second place was secured by Vishakha Sagar, a student of CMS, Gomti Nagar, Campus-I and third place was secured by Mrinalika Trivedi, a student of Modern School, Aliganj. Director R.S.A.C., U.P. – Sheeldhar Singh Yadav I.A.S. appealed to the students to make a significant contribution to the development of the country by using remote sensing techniques and the winning students were awarded.
All the scientists of R.S.A.C.-U.P., all the members of the festival organizing committee, all the faculty members of the M.Tech. program run under the School of Geo-Informatics Department and the students studying in M.Tech. were also present in this program.
Member Secretary of the festival organizing committee Rishi Raj Sharma also had a special contribution in the conduct of the program.
