Koderma: A tragic accident occurred near Rajendra Chowk under the Koderma police station limits. According to reports, a motorcyclist was killed on the spot after being hit by a truck on Tuesday morning, while another young man sustained serious injuries. The deceased was identified as 60-year-old retired railway employee Durga alias Durgi Paswan. The injured individual was identified as 16-year-old Ratan Kumar Pandey.
How Did the Accident Happen?
It is reported that the two individuals were traveling to Koderma for a religious offering. Near Rajendra Chowk, their motorcycle was hit by a truck (BR 01GB 3100), leading to the immediate death of one rider while the other was critically injured. The injured person was taken to Sadar Hospital with the help of emergency services (108), where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Following the incident, enraged locals blocked the Koderma-Giridih main road by placing the deceased’s body at Rajendra Chowk. Koderma CO Haldar Prasad Sethi and Koderma police station in-charge Arvind Kumar arrived at the scene and negotiated with the villagers. The officials assured financial assistance for the deceased’s last rites and promised all eligible government benefits to the victim’s family. After assurances were given, the body was sent to Koderma Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The roadblock, which lasted nearly three hours, was eventually lifted.
