Barabanki: The literary organisation Bazm-e Aiwan-e Ghazal, based in Saadatganj, Barabanki, organised its monthly Tarahi Mushaira at Ideal Inter College, Mohammadpur Bahun, bringing together poets and literature enthusiasts for an evening of Urdu poetry.

The programme was presided over by Aasi Chaukhhandvi, while renowned satirical and humorous poet Bedhab Barabankvi conducted the proceedings. The gathering began on a spiritual note with a Naat-e-Rasool presented by Mushtaq Bazmi.

The mushaira formally commenced with the prescribed Misra-e-Tarah, “Kaif-e-Jaan Utarne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai”. Poets presented their compositions around the given poetic line, earning appreciation and applause from the audience.

Among the couplets that particularly captivated the gathering were:

Kya Se Kya Banati Hai Ek Junbish-e-Mizhgan
Dhoop-Chhaon Karne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai

Bedhab Barabankvi:
Doobta Hoon Jab Uski Jheel Jaisi Aankh Mein
Doob Kar Ubharne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai

Zaki Tariq Barabankvi:
Humne Jin Parindon Ko Khud Sikhaya Ho Udna
Unke Par Kutarne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai

Mushtaq Bazmi:
Bas Shikaar Ban Jaaye Ishq Badgumani Ka
Chahaton Ke Marne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai

Nazish Barabankvi:
Josh-e-Dil Ubharne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai
Kuchh Bhi Kar Guzarne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai

Sahar Ayyubi:
Ek Zamana Lagta Hai Urooj Par Pahunchne Mein
Urooj Se Utarne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai

Ubaid Azmi:
Tere Baad Jo Dil Mein Ho Gayi Jagah Khaali
Is Khala Ko Bharne Mein Der Kitni Lagti Hai
