Gorakhpur: Celebrating 75 years of its establishment, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, organized the “Heerak Jayanti Samaroh” (Platinum Jubilee Celebrations). As part of the celebrations, a four-day “Antardeshiy” art exhibition was held at Amrita Kala Veethika from February 25-28, 2025. The event was jointly organized by the State Lalit Kala Academy, Uttar Pradesh (Department of Culture, Uttar Pradesh), and the Department of Fine Arts and Music, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest, Professor Poonam Tandon, Vice-Chancellor of Gorakhpur University, and Special Guest, Professor Rajwant Rao, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. Professor Usha Singh, Head of the Department of Fine Arts and Music, welcomed the esteemed guests with floral bouquets and mementos. The dignitaries appreciated the exhibition and commended the artists for their exceptional works.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Professor Poonam Tandon remarked, “The ‘Antardeshiy’ art exhibition showcases unique and diverse artworks. The natural-themed paintings are mesmerizing, while folk art pieces beautifully reflect cultural traditions. Some artists have also depicted contemporary themes with deep emotional impact, guiding society in a positive direction.”
Special Guest Professor Rajwant Rao praised the exhibition, stating, “Each artwork displayed here is remarkable, presenting different emotions and perspectives, highlighting the creativity of the artists.”
A total of 45 artworks, including four sculptures, were exhibited, covering themes such as nature, folk art, history, religion, and contemporary issues.
The exhibition will remain open for visitors from February 25-28, 2025, between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
