The 145th birth anniversary of Founder of India Literature Board, Lucknow Dr. Weldfisher was held at Saksharataniketan, Kanpur Road, Lucknow on September 18, The prayer meeting began with the laying of wreaths at the portrait of Weldifischer and the program of hymns and discourses of all religions.
After the prayer meeting, Colorful cultural programs were presented by the students of Dr. S.K. Weldfisher Children’s Academy. The life of Weldfisher and his outstanding works in the field of literacy were highlighted in detail. On this occasion, President Sanjay R. Bhusareddy, IAS (Senior) also awarded two outstanding teachers of Weldfisher Children’s Academy – Shampa Bose and Poonam Shukla with citation, souvenirs and cash prizes.

Bhusareddy, I.A.S.(Senior)”said that this year the awards will be given to three institutions – District Jail, Fatehpur for outstanding achievements in the field of literacy and lifelong learning, souvenirs, scrolls and garments and Ganga Mahila Self Help Group, Muzaffarnagar and Annapurna Mahila Self Help Group, Bareilly Twenty-five thousand, souvenirs, scrolls and garments will be provided.
At the end of the programme, vote of thanks was given by Praveen Tandon, Advisor, India Literature Board. On this occasion, Sandhya Tiwari, I.A.S. (Senior), Director, India Literature Board, besides the dignified presence of Anoop Kumar Srivastava, Special Executive Officer, Sudhakarman Singh, Administrative Officer, Shalini Saxena, Principal, all the officers/staff working in the premises of Saksharataniketan and all the students were present.
