A.K. Sharma Distributes Free Assistive Devices to Divyangjan and Senior Citizens, Bringing Smiles to Thousands in Mau

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma distributed free assistive devices, including motorized tricycles, tricycles, and other mobility aids, to persons with disabilities and senior citizens under the ADIP Scheme and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana at Indira Gandhi Hospital and Research Centre in Dumri Maryadpur, Mau.

More than 2,500 beneficiaries received a range of assistive devices during the programme, aimed at enhancing mobility, independence, and quality of life for elderly citizens and persons with disabilities.

Addressing the gathering, Sharma said that the state and central governments are committed to ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in society. He emphasized that under the leadership of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, the government is working with a mission to create an inclusive and empowered society where every citizen can live with dignity and self-reliance.

“The objective of these initiatives is not merely to provide assistance but to empower beneficiaries to lead independent and dignified lives,” Sharma said. He added that welfare programmes for Divyangjan and senior citizens remain a key priority of the government’s social development agenda.

The minister also highlighted his long-standing association with the Madhuban and Doharighat regions, stating that his commitment to public service and regional development extends back many years. He recalled the support extended to local residents during the COVID-19 pandemic and reaffirmed his dedication to the welfare of the area.

Sharma assured residents that development efforts in Madhuban, Doharighat, and the entire Mau district would continue with full momentum. He said the government is focused on strengthening infrastructure and public services through improvements in roads, electricity, drinking water supply, urban amenities, and various welfare programmes.

According to the minister, Mau district is steadily advancing on the path of growth and development, and the government remains committed to ensuring comprehensive progress across all sectors. He stressed that no effort would be spared in enhancing the quality of life for local residents and creating new opportunities for socio-economic development.

The distribution programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from beneficiaries, many of whom expressed gratitude after receiving motorized tricycles and other assistive devices.
