Lucknow: To make the country self-reliant in terms of defense products, the Yogi government is developing world class infrastructure in the Defense Industrial Corridor taking shape in the state. For this, Rs 950 crore is being spent by the government.
Under this, high quality arrangements of road, electricity, water, sewer and security are being made in the Defense Corridor. There are 6 nodes of Defense Industrial Corridor in the state, out of which this amount has been fixed for 5 nodes. According to the information given by UPEIDA officials, works worth about Rs 187 crore have been completed so far. At the same time, works worth more than Rs 537 crore are under construction.
The maximum amount of Rs 517 crore is being spent in Jhansi node.
In the infrastructure development works being done by UPEIDA, Rs 941.19 crore is to be spent in Aligarh, Kanpur, Jhansi, Lucknow and Chitrakoot nodes. In this, more than Rs 122 crore is being spent for Aligarh node. Works worth more than 37 crores have been completed here, while works worth more than 61 crores are under construction. At the same time, tenders for works worth more than 13 crores have been done. Apart from this, about 10 crores rupees have been kept for future works.
Similarly, more than 62 crores rupees will be spent for Kanpur node. Here too, works worth more than 32 crores rupees have been completed, works worth more than 16 crores rupees are under construction, while tenders for works worth more than 13 crores rupees have been done. Similarly, the maximum works worth more than 517 crores rupees are being done for Jhansi. Works worth more than 102 crores have been completed, works worth more than 376 crores rupees are under construction, while more than 37 crores rupees have been kept for future works.
Works worth 82 crores are under construction in Lucknow node. Talking about Lucknow node, works worth more than Rs 166 crores are being done here, out of which works worth more than Rs 14 crores have been completed, while works worth more than Rs 82 crores are under construction.
Works worth more than Rs 13 crores have been tendered here, while more than Rs 56 crores have been kept for upcoming works. Similarly, more than Rs 71 crores will be spent in Chitrakoot node. Works worth Rs 39 lakhs are under construction here, while works worth more than Rs 10 crores have been tendered. More than Rs 61 crores have been kept here for upcoming works.
25 thousand crores will be invested in UPDIC. UP Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) is going to play an important role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to make the country self-reliant in defense production. One of the two defense corridors of the country is rapidly taking shape in UP. The six nodes of the Defense Industrial Corridor in the state are Agra, Aligarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chitrakoot and Jhansi. With the efforts of the Yogi government, the way has been cleared for investment of about 25 thousand crore rupees in these nodes, which will directly create employment for 40 thousand youth.
According to UPEIDA officials, 154 MoUs have been signed for UPDIC so far. More than 16 hundred hectares of land has been acquired so far, out of which more than seven hundred hectares of land has been allotted to 42 industrial groups. An investment of about eight thousand crore rupees is being made by these 42 industrial groups.
