Lucknow: Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant chaired a review meeting on development works, welfare schemes and the progress of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at the Commissioner’s Auditorium. District Magistrates, Chief Development Officers and senior officials from Lucknow, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Raebareli, Sitapur and Unnao participated virtually.
Reviewing the campaign, being conducted from September 17 to October 17, officials reported activities including blood donation and health camps, tree plantation, fruit distribution, tool-kit distribution, street plays and distribution of assistive devices. So far, 34 blood donation camps have recorded 533 donors, while 5,775 patients have benefited from health-related activities and 1,460 beneficiaries have received toolkits under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana.
Pant directed officials to increase public participation and ensure effective monitoring and timely uploading of activities on the campaign portal. Upcoming initiatives such as Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat—Chitra Seva, Namo Seva—Ankahi Kahaniyan, Seva Setu Abhiyan and Seva First Innovation Challenge were also reviewed.
The Commissioner directed that all pending pension cases be disposed of by September 30, 2026, ensuring eligible beneficiaries receive benefits without unnecessary delay.
Reviewing construction and infrastructure projects, he ordered departments to accelerate delayed works and complete them within prescribed timelines. He also directed that all identified road repair and pothole-removal works across the division be completed by the end of October, with quality verification after completion.
On rural development, officials reported 108 of 112 Panchayat Utsav Bhawan projects completed, representing 96.43% progress. Furniture and books for digital libraries had also been supplied across all 1,093 gram panchayats.
The meeting reviewed drinking water schemes, with 26,97,446 of the targeted 30,92,483 households receiving water supply connections or coverage, representing 87.23% progress. The Commissioner directed officials to ensure regular water supply to targeted households.
Pant also ordered regular monitoring of gaushalas and arrangements for the protection and feeding of destitute cattle at block and sub-divisional levels. Officials were instructed to strengthen cleanliness, fodder availability, healthcare and isolation facilities for sick or vulnerable cattle.
The Commissioner directed district authorities to prioritise disposal of revenue cases pending for more than one year, particularly matters under Sections 34 and 35, and ensure effective monitoring of older cases.
Reviewing IGRS grievances, he stressed that complaints must be resolved on merit and not merely disposed of formally. Officials were asked to contact complainants after disposal and review cases involving dissatisfied feedback.
The meeting also reviewed the proposed selection of approximately 250–300 acres of land for a firing range for the Indian Army. District Magistrates of Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri were directed to examine suitable land, including low-lying areas where appropriate, and complete the selection process on priority.
Joint Development Commissioner Shivakant Dwivedi and senior divisional and district-level officials also attended the meeting.
