Lucknow: The immersion procession of Shivaji Marg’s Raja Ganpati was taken out with great enthusiasm on Thursday as part of the Shri Shri Ganesh Mahotsav organised under the Oscar Yog Sai Kripa Seva Sansthan.
Accompanied by traditional drums, musical beats and a DJ, devotees proceeded towards the immersion venue at Jhulelal Park. The procession was marked by singing, dancing and the festive spirit, with devotees applying abir and gulal to one another along the route.
Before the immersion ceremony, devotees participated in the morning rituals at the festival venue. The idol of Lord Ganesha was beautifully decorated and an aarti was performed, followed by a Satyanarayan Katha. Devotees listened to the religious discourse and received prasad.
Festival organiser Ganesh Shankar Pawar said a small brass idol of Lord Ganesha had been kept at the puja venue during the celebrations. Following the symbolic immersion of the brass idol on Thursday, the main Ganesh idol was installed at the temple.
The temple will now become a permanent place of worship, where regular prayers and rituals will be performed, organisers said.
