Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has launched its 50th training programme for real estate agents in Lucknow, aimed at strengthening legal awareness, professional skills and ethical practices in the state’s real estate sector.
The four-day programme began on Wednesday at the Indian Literacy Board (ILB) on Kanpur Road, with 50 participants from across Uttar Pradesh attending the session. The trainees are preparing to become certified and registered real estate agents.
The programme was inaugurated by ILB Director Sandhya Tiwari in the presence of UP RERA officials. RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma outlined the training schedule and urged participants to attend each session with seriousness and commitment.
Tiwari said the credibility of the real estate sector rests on effective coordination among promoters, real estate agents and the regulator. She emphasised that better coordination among the three is essential to protect consumers and strengthen public confidence in the sector.
Participants will be trained in the RERA Act, UP RERA rules and regulations, the Apartment Ownership Act, the Transfer of Property Act, contract law, stamp and registration provisions, project promotion and marketing, and the functioning of the RERA agent portal.
On the opening day, Principal Consultant Abrar Ahmed addressed participants on the RERA Act and UP RERA regulations, while Adjudicating Officer Harish Tripathi discussed relevant provisions of contract and property transfer laws. System Analyst Ganesh Mishra conducted a session on project marketing and the agent portal, while AIG Registrar Shanti Bhushan Chaubey explained stamp and registration-related provisions.
An examination will be conducted on the final day. To ensure transparency, mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops and other electronic devices will not be permitted inside the examination hall.
Candidates who clear the examination and deposit the prescribed registration fee will receive official registration.
With the 50th programme now underway, UP RERA has conducted 49 training sessions in Lucknow and Greater Noida. More than 3,000 candidates have registered for these programmes, while over 2,100 have completed the training. Results up to the 47th batch have been declared, with 1,991 candidates having successfully obtained certification so far.
Senior officials present at the inaugural programme included RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma, Principal Consultant Abrar Ahmed, Finance Advisor Sudhanshu Tripathi, Media Advisor Dr Akash Yadav and Ram Chandra Yadav.
