Gonda: The “Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad” initiative is emerging as an effective platform for the prompt and quality resolution of problems faced by women across Devipatan Division. The initiative is being conducted on the directions and guidance of Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal, with a focus on women’s safety, dignity, rights and empowerment.
Through the dialogue programme, women are being provided an opportunity to directly present their grievances before officials. Complaints are being taken up on priority, with officials instructed to ensure time-bound and effective disposal of each case.
Several women have already benefited from the initiative, including in cases involving long-pending disputes.
In one case, Kamini, wife of Mewalal and a resident of Sejwal in Balrampur, had complained of illegal occupation of her property by another person. The matter was investigated by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, following which the alleged illegal encroachment was removed and the woman was provided relief.
In another case, Ajul Kumari, wife of late Mahadev, approached the Divisional Commissioner after her husband died in an accident. Her complaint was investigated, following which she was provided benefits under the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana’s accident insurance provision.
Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal has directed officials to deal with complaints concerning women with sensitivity and seriousness and ensure their timely, qualitative and effective disposal. Officials have also been instructed to listen carefully to the complainant in every case, take action according to the applicable rules and inform the concerned woman about the action taken on her complaint.
The Commissioner emphasised that women’s safety, dignity and protection of their rights are among the government’s priorities. She directed officials to ensure that no complaint remains pending and that women do not have to make repeated visits to government offices to seek redressal.
The “Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad” also provides women with information about their rights, safety mechanisms and various government welfare schemes. During the interactions, women have raised issues related to domestic violence, family disputes, pensions, housing, employment, security and other concerns. These matters are being referred to the concerned departments for action according to rules.
Officials have been specifically directed not to show negligence or delay in handling women’s grievances. In sensitive cases, departments have been asked to coordinate with one another and, wherever required, connect affected women with relevant government schemes, assistance programmes and support services.
The Commissioner said the objective of the “Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad” extends beyond grievance disposal. It also seeks to strengthen women’s confidence in the administration while promoting a sense of safety, dignity and empowerment.
The initiative is being implemented across all four districts of Devipatan Division — Gonda, Bahraich, Balrampur and Shravasti. District Magistrates are monitoring the programme at the district level, providing continued administrative support for the resolution of women’s grievances.
Through regular monitoring and direct interaction with women, the initiative aims to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes and that women’s grievances receive effective and timely attention at the appropriate administrative level.
