Key Issues Raised Before the Zonal Consultative Committee
Gorakhpur: The 112th meeting of the North East Railway’s Zonal Consultative Committee was held in Gorakhpur. Senior railway officials, including the General Manager and Deputy General Manager, attended the meeting alongside members of the railway consultative committee.
Ram Bahadur Singh, a member of the Railway Consultative Committee representing specific railway interests, participated in the meeting. He prominently raised various significant railway-related problems and public interest issues concerning his home district, Mau, and the Ratanpura development block.
While presenting the issues regarding Ratanpura Railway Station and the surrounding area, Ram Bahadur Singh demanded the “construction of ramps for differently-abled persons,” “stoppage of trains bound for Delhi and Kolkata at Ratanpura Railway Station,” and “ensuring the smooth operation of Underpass No. 23” located in Ratanpura. He stated that the smooth functioning of the underpass would facilitate the movement of thousands of people across several villages.
Additionally, he strongly advocated for “adequate drinking water arrangements” at the railway station and the “construction of accessible and clean toilets” for both men and women. He urged railway officials to resolve these issues promptly so that residents of the area could benefit from better railway facilities.
During the meeting, the General Manager of North East Railway took the public interest issues raised by Ram Bahadur Singh seriously and assured that necessary action would be taken to address them, promising to “ensure a complete resolution to these problems as soon as possible.”
The prominent raising of issues related to Ratanpura and Mau district during the meeting has sparked hope among local residents regarding the expansion and improvement of railway facilities.
