Jaipuria Lucknow Marks 31st Foundation Day with Lessons on Success and Responsibility

Lucknow: Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow celebrated its 31st Foundation Day with the theme “A Legacy That Keeps Leading Forward”, bringing together students, faculty members, alumni and members of the Jaipuria community. The event focused on the importance of clarity of purpose, honesty, continuous effort and a sense of responsibility in achieving success.

The chief guest, Lucknow Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, urged students to remain clear about their goals and work consistently towards them. He said management professionals influence organisations and communities through their decisions and emphasised the need for professionals who understand not only management but also the realities and needs of the people and institutions around them.

Kumar also advised students to respect their time and the financial sacrifices made by their parents for their education. Drawing from his own professional experience, he said success has no final destination and that receiving greater responsibility requires continued hard work. He encouraged students to measure their progress not merely through personal achievements but also through their contribution to society.

Dr Sushma Vishnani, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, said the Foundation Day provided an opportunity to reflect on the institution’s responsibility towards its students and the quality of education it provides. She highlighted the institute’s efforts to strengthen learning, research and industry engagement while giving students opportunities to apply their knowledge meaningfully.

The celebrations began with traditional lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a presentation tracing the institute’s journey. A Green Certificate was also presented during the programme.

Members of the Jaipuria community were recognised for academic performance and achievements with Academic Excellence Awards, Alumni Achievement Awards and Loyalty Awards. The programme also featured a cultural dance performance. Dean Academics Dr Hemendra Gupta delivered the vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem.

Jaipuria Lucknow continues to strengthen academic partnerships connecting management education with professional and institutional ecosystems. Its MoU with the Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management covers academic collaboration, research, training and capacity building. The institute’s Centre for Teaching and Learning is also part of the EU-funded Erasmus+ ADeD project, which brings together higher education institutions from Europe, India and Nepal to promote accessible, inclusive and digitalised management education.
