Bareilly: A felicitation ceremony was organised in honour of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) Vice-Chancellor Professor K.P. Singh at the Training and Placement Auditorium on Saturday. The programme was organised by the university teachers’ association and witnessed the dignified presence of a large number of faculty members.
The programme began with the university teachers’ association president Professor Manoj Kumar Singh and general secretary Dr Suresh Kumar presenting a bouquet to the Vice-Chancellor.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Manoj Kumar Singh highlighted the numerous initiatives and efforts undertaken by Professor K.P. Singh to take the university to greater heights. He said the Vice-Chancellor’s personality reflected a combination of effective leadership and several other qualities, with a strong commitment to serving the interests of society and the nation.
He particularly highlighted the promotion of around 48 teachers during the tenure of the present teachers’ association, saying that the move had brought an end to a wait of several years and represented a significant achievement in the interest of the teaching community.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Professor K.P. Singh said that a leader should always adopt a parental role, providing guidance, support and encouragement to those associated with an institution.
He said the policies formulated for the development of the university would continue to contribute to its progress in the years ahead. He emphasised that institutional development required collective efforts and a long-term vision.
University Registrar Mahendra Kumar and Dean Academics Professor S.K. Pandey also appreciated the Vice-Chancellor’s efforts towards strengthening the university and promoting its overall development.

Teachers’ association General Secretary Dr Suresh Kumar spoke about Professor K.P. Singh’s personality and described him as a social reformer, highlighting his efforts to bring positive changes within the university and society.
The programme was conducted by Teachers’ Association President Professor Manoj Kumar Singh, while Dr Suresh Kumar delivered the vote of thanks.
Among those present were Professor Alok Srivastava, Professor S.S. Bedi, Professor Tulika Saxena, Professor Bhola Khan, Professor Vinay Rishiwal, Dr Pawan Singh and Professor Sudhir Kumar Verma, along with several other teachers and employees of the university. Representatives and office-bearers of the ABVP, as well as members of the media, were also present.
The ceremony reflected the appreciation of the university’s teaching community for the initiatives undertaken during Professor K.P. Singh’s tenure and his contribution towards the institution’s academic and administrative development.
