Gonda: The Uttar Pradesh government is taking major steps to strengthen the education ecosystem across the Devipatan division under the vision of “Educated Devipatan, Developed Devipatan”. Modern Chief Minister Model Composite Schools are being established across Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti and Gonda to provide students with access to quality education and advanced facilities under one roof.
The initiative is being implemented in line with the state government’s education policies under the inspiration of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and under the leadership and guidance of Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal. The schools are being developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 30 crore per school, with efforts underway to ensure that the projects are completed efficiently and provide a modern learning environment to students.
At the state level, 150 model schools are being established at the assembly constituency level with a total investment of Rs 4,500 crore. The initiative aims to create large, integrated educational campuses capable of accommodating around 1,500 to 2,000 students from pre-primary to Class 12.
The proposed schools are designed to offer modern infrastructure and facilities, including smart classrooms, advanced science and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratories for senior secondary students, spacious auditoriums, professional sports facilities, residential hostels, transportation services and a dining hall with a capacity of more than 1,400 students.
The composite model is intended to provide students with continuity of education from the pre-primary stage through higher secondary schooling within a single campus. Officials believe that access to integrated educational and residential facilities will help improve student retention and reduce dropout rates, particularly by making quality schooling more accessible.
District-Wise Progress Under Phase One
In Bahraich, construction of the model composite school in Tejwapur development block is nearing completion, with finishing work currently underway.
In Balrampur, construction of the first-phase model school in Balrampur development block is progressing rapidly, with roof construction currently underway.
In Shravasti, the model school being developed in Hariharpur Rani development block has reached the roof construction stage, with work progressing on the building.
In Gonda, the foundation ceremony for the model school in Jhanjhari development block has been completed and construction work has commenced.
The initiative is expected to give a significant boost to school education infrastructure in the Devipatan division by bringing multiple educational and support services together in a single modern campus.
The administration believes that the Chief Minister Model Composite Schools will enable children from pre-primary to Class 12 to access modern educational facilities at one location. The integrated infrastructure is also expected to contribute to reducing school dropouts and improving retention rates while creating a more engaging and technology-enabled learning environment.
With construction advancing at different stages across the four districts, the project is emerging as a key component of the division’s broader effort to build a stronger, more inclusive and future-ready education system.
