Lucknow: GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15 August 2026. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Colonel Dr. Indramani Pandey, along with special guests School Chairman Dr. Sarvesh Goel, Director Lalita Goel, and Shaily Dawra, Headmistress of the Mahanagar branch.
The programme opened with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a spirited March Past that showcased the students’ discipline, confidence, and dedication. Officiating Principal Sonia Mathai then welcomed the gathering, setting a warm and dignified tone for the celebrations ahead.
The patriotic spirit of the day came alive through a soulful Group Song and an inspiring Vande Mataram dance. Students also staged a captivating dance drama titled Flagship, beautifully capturing the emotions of pride and patriotism associated with the national flag, followed by a vibrant dance performance that kept the audience enthralled.
In his address, Chairman Dr. Sarvesh Goel commended the teachers and students for a spectacular show, giving special praise to the School Student Council for its role in ensuring discipline and smooth management throughout the event. He reminded students that school is where the fundamentals of discipline, dedication, and teamwork are first learned.
