Gonda DM Provides Tricycle to Differently-Abled Man on the Spot, Directs Officials to Extend Welfare Benefits

Gonda: In a compassionate gesture during the public grievance hearing (Janta Darshan) at the Collectorate premises, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan ensured immediate assistance for a differently-abled resident and directed officials to extend the benefits of various government welfare schemes to him.

The beneficiary, Rambhavan, son of Aafat and a resident of Birpur Jhalahiya village in Gonda district, attended the public hearing to present his difficulties. Noticing his physical condition, the District Magistrate stepped out of her office chamber to personally hear his concerns and understand the challenges he faces in his daily life.

During the interaction, Rambhavan explained the mobility-related hardships that were affecting his routine activities. Taking immediate cognizance of the matter, the District Magistrate spoke with the concerned departmental officials on the spot and issued necessary directions for prompt assistance.

As a result of the swift intervention, a tricycle was provided to the differently-abled beneficiary at the Collectorate itself, enabling him to improve his mobility and independence. The District Magistrate also instructed officials to ensure that he receives the benefits of the Divyang Pension Scheme and other eligible government welfare programmes at the earliest.

The prompt action drew appreciation from people present at the venue, who lauded the District Magistrate’s sensitivity and commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable sections of society. Observers described the initiative as an example of responsive governance and citizen-centric administration.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Magistrate said that the government’s priority is to ensure that welfare schemes reach every deserving beneficiary without delay. She directed concerned officials to give priority to resolving the issues of differently-abled persons and other eligible citizens so that they can access government assistance in a timely manner.

District Disability Empowerment Officer Rajneesh Kiran was also present during the proceedings.

The incident highlighted the district administration’s efforts to combine efficient public service delivery with empathy and social inclusion, reinforcing confidence among citizens in the grievance redressal system.
