Guwahati: In a major achievement for Assam Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police Birdie Boro secured two gold medals in table tennis at the 2nd All India Police Games held in Lucknow from May 13 to 15.
Representing the Special Task Force (STF), Birdie Boro emerged victorious in both the Open Singles and Gazetted Officers Singles categories, continuing his impressive dominance in the national police tournament. Notably, this is the third consecutive occasion on which he has captured both titles, underlining his consistency and competitive excellence.
In the Open Singles final, Boro defeated Subrat Raj Verma of Uttar Pradesh Police by 3-1. He followed it up with another commanding performance in the Gazetted Officers category, defeating M. Sree Abhinav from the National Police Academy with a convincing 3-0 scoreline.
His achievement has been widely appreciated within Assam Police, with senior officials and colleagues praising his dedication, discipline, and sporting spirit alongside his professional responsibilities.

With the double triumph, Birdie Boro has also earned qualification to represent India at the upcoming World Police and Fire Games scheduled to be held in Perth.
The victory adds another milestone to Assam Police’s growing sporting achievements and highlights the increasing participation of police personnel in national and international sporting events.
