Lucknow: Vivekananda Polyclinic and Institute of Medical Sciences, along with Vivekananda Polyclinic School and Vivekananda College of Nursing, organized a comprehensive celebration of World Health Day 2026, involving all wards and departments. The theme for this year, as set by the World Health Organization, was “Health for All: Standing with Science”, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing pressing health challenges affecting humans, animals, plants, and the entire ecosystem.
The Community Health Nursing Department conducted an educational role-play at the Community Health Center, Sarojini Nagar, to demonstrate the significance of science-based partnerships in building a healthier society. Meanwhile, the Medical-Surgical Nursing Department engaged patients across hospital wards in mindfulness exercises to reduce stress and promote recovery.
Students from B.Sc. Nursing programs actively participated in health education activities, providing practical demonstrations to encourage healthy lifestyle practices. The OBG Department organized role-plays at Avanti Bai Women’s Hospital to raise awareness about maternal and child care. The Child Health Nursing Department conducted a vibrant rangoli competition promoting health awareness, while the Psychiatric Nursing Department hosted a poster competition highlighting scientific innovation and collective global health efforts.
A webinar organized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, further enriched participants’ knowledge, fostering engagement and discussion.

On the occasion, Secretary Swami Muktinathananda praised the institution’s dedication to health awareness and scientific thinking, emphasizing that collaborative, evidence-based approaches are essential to meet current and future health challenges. He acknowledged the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty, highlighting that such initiatives strengthen public trust in science and promote informed health practices.
