Lucknow: In a tragic development, the body of 25-year-old Ravi Gopal, who lost his life in an incident in Saudi Arabia, was brought back to India on Friday morning and received at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. The mortal remains were later sent to his native village Baghain in Mahmoodabad tehsil of Sitapur district amid a sombre atmosphere.
According to reports, Ravi Gopal was working at a plastic factory in Riyadh when a missile strike on March 18 claimed his life. The sudden demise of the young worker has left his family and the entire region in deep grief.
The Sitapur district administration had made prior arrangements for the smooth transfer of the body. An ambulance, supervised by officials including a Naib Tehsildar and a police sub-inspector, was stationed at the airport. Family members, including the deceased’s elder brother Manmohan, were present to receive the body.
Sources said that Ammar Rizvi, National President of the All India Minorities Forum for Democracy, played a key role in facilitating the repatriation process. He coordinated with airport authorities and airline officials, including representatives of Flynas, ensuring the timely arrival of the remains.
Expressing deep sorrow, Ammar Rizvi extended condolences to the bereaved family and termed the incident अत्यंत दुखद. He also thanked the Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister of India for their prompt intervention, which helped expedite the process.

Rizvi has further urged authorities to direct the factory owners to provide compensation of at least ₹1 crore to the victim’s family to support their livelihood.
Local residents have expressed grief over the incident and called on the government to strengthen safety measures for Indian workers employed abroad to prevent such tragedies in the future.
