Gonda: District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan chaired an important review meeting of the inter-departmental coordination committee at the Collectorate auditorium to assess preparedness for the upcoming communicable disease control campaign. The meeting focused on ensuring effective implementation of the Special Communicable Disease Control Drive and the Dastak campaign.
During the review, the District Magistrate directed all concerned departments to complete their assigned tasks within stipulated timelines and submit regular progress reports along with photographic evidence. She made it clear that any negligence or laxity during the campaign would be taken seriously, and strict action would be initiated against responsible officials.
Officials informed that the Communicable Disease Control Campaign will be conducted from April 1 to April 30, 2026, while the Dastak Campaign will run from April 10 to April 30, 2026. Key activities will include sanitation drives, prevention of waterlogging, control of vector-borne diseases, vaccination, awareness campaigns, and door-to-door health screenings.
The District Magistrate emphasized the need for strong coordination among departments such as Health, Urban Local Bodies, Education, Panchayati Raj, and Child Development to ensure maximum outreach and impact. She also highlighted the importance of public participation, stating that awareness among citizens is crucial for the success of such initiatives.

Urging officials to carry out their responsibilities with seriousness and commitment, she reiterated the administration’s goal of making the district free from communicable diseases.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sant Lal Patel, Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate/E.O. Vishal Kumar, ACMOs Dr. Aditya Verma and Dr. C.K. Verma, District Panchayati Raj Officer Lalji Dubey, District Programme Officer Sanjay Upadhyay, along with CHC superintendents, municipal officials, and representatives of various departments.
