Lucknow: In a significant success, the Hussainganj Police have arrested an illegal cannabis smuggler, identified as Mohammad Savaj, and recovered 1 kilogram and 150 grams of marijuana from his possession.
Under the guidance of DCP Madhya, Vikrant Veer, Hussainganj Station In-Charge Shivmangal Singh led the operation that led to the arrest. Sub-Inspector Deepak, along with Head Constable Mohammad Ibran, Constable Ajay Kumar, and other police personnel, were conducting a routine checking drive near Bal Vidya Mandir School.
During the operation, a scooter carrying two youths tried to evade the police. Acting swiftly, the team attempted a cordon to intercept them. The scooter driver was apprehended, while the passenger managed to flee the scene.
The arrested accused, Mohammad Savaj, reportedly has multiple cases registered against him at various police stations across Lucknow.
The Hussainganj Police continue to intensify their efforts against illegal drug trafficking in the city.
