Two Day Lit Fest ‘Abhivyakti-5’ organised by Surya Command, Indian Army

Lucknow: Lit Fest ‘Abhivyakti-5’   in Lucknow was  Organised by HQ Central Command. The event was inaugurated by  Sunita Dwivedi, President AWWA.

The event led by Ruchira Sengupta,  Regional President AWWA, Surya Command   brought together writers, poets, artists, scholars and veterans from across the country, highlighting the strength of storytelling and the shared experiences of Army families. Sessions covered a wide range of themes including military narratives, fiction, women empowerment, art and heritage.

The two-day event featured panel discussions, poetry recital, cultural performances, book launches and showcases that highlighted both the creative spirit of AWWA members and the  legacy of Lucknow

The Day One programme included the felicitation of Veer Nari Chitra Devi ,  release of AWWA’s annual journal Navchetna, narration by writer Mr Mehmood Abdi, “Celebrating Stories of Valour,” a conversation with Capt & Mrs Saxena, Panel discussion  Standup comedy, book launches, readings . The day concluded with a soulful Sufi Night.

The second day began with a heritage walk at La Martiniere College under the theme “The Soul of Lucknow – A Legacy Preserved.” A panel discussion “Sarhad, Sena, Sahitya” set the tone for the morning session  followed by book launches, book readings,   poetry recital “Bayan-e-Jazbaat,” which added emotional depth to the event.

A Dastangoi performance titled “Dastan-e-Ishq” by Dr Himanshu Bajpai and Dr Pragya Sharma held the audience with stories of love, longing and tradition. The closing session featured an address by Ms Charu Pragya, who spoke on service, purpose and community. The festival concluded with a formal vote of thanks.


Across both days, visitors engaged in a variety of activities including Nukkad Natak, Open Mic sessions, Hunar Haat, Authors’ Lounge and curated book stalls. These segments created a lively and inclusive atmosphere that inspired participation and creative expression across all age groups.
