NeGD Organizes ‘Big Data and Data Analytics’ Programme A Capacity Building Programme under Digital India

Lucknow: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under its Digital India Vision plans and implements its capacity building initiatives in Digital Governance. As part of the same, a 2-day training programme on ‘Big Data and Data Analytics’ has been organized at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from November 26 – 27, 2025 by National e- Governance Division (NeGD), MeitY for the officials of Central and State Governments across the country. A total of 26 officers from various Central Line Ministries and States/UTs, including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal participated in the programme.

The program was inaugurated on 26th November, 2025. The objective of the “Big Data & Data Analytics” training programme was to equip government officers with a comprehensive understanding of big data technologies, address the challenges of their adoption, and demonstrate how data-driven insights can strengthen public policy and administration. By focusing on issues such as aggregating data from multiple applications and developing predictive analytics, the programme aimed to build institutional capacities under the Capacity Building Scheme of Digital India, enabling smarter governance and innovation across departments.

The Capacity-Building scheme under the Digital India Programme intends to build adequate and relevant capacities at all government levels and provide need-based training to conceptualize, lead, design, and implement e-Governance projects. Vigorous efforts have been made to reach a large number of government officials and train them in relevant skills.
