Lucknow: A shocking case of abduction and sexual assault has surfaced from Lucknow, where an 18-year-old Class 12 student was allegedly kidnapped under the pretext of being offered a lift and held captive for four days before being sexually assaulted by three men. The Lucknow Police have arrested two of the accused, while a third suspect remains absconding.
The Abduction
According to police reports, the incident occurred on the night of October 15, 2025, when the victim, upset after a minor disagreement with her family, stepped out of her home. While returning late at night in the Khurramnagar area, she got down from an auto-rickshaw after losing her way. At that time, two men — identified as Anshuman and Junaid — offered her a ride to Vikas Nagar. Despite her refusal, the men allegedly forced her into their car.
Police said the accused spiked her drink with a sedative-laced substance, causing her to lose consciousness. She was then taken to an isolated flat in the city, where the horrific assault began.
Four Days of Captivity and Abuse
At the flat, Anshuman and Junaid allegedly took turns assaulting the victim. Later, a third man, Shivansh, joined them and also committed the crime. The survivor was held hostage for four days, subjected to continuous physical and mental torture. On October 18, she managed to escape and return home, though initially, she remained silent out of fear and trauma.
When one of the accused, Junaid, allegedly began threatening her over calls and messages on October 19, the victim finally confided in her parents, who immediately lodged a complaint at Madiyanv Police Station.

Police Action and Investigation
Acting swiftly, the Lucknow Police registered a case on October 22 and arrested Anshuman and Junaid the following day. Police sources revealed that Anshuman’s father works in the Wireless Department, adding another layer of concern to the case.
Authorities have launched an extensive manhunt for Shivansh, the third accused, who remains on the run. The case has been registered under Sections 376D (gang rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation), and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim’s medical examination has confirmed the assault.
Public Outrage and Calls for Justice
The incident has sparked outrage across the city, with residents and women’s groups demanding immediate justice and stronger action to ensure safety for women, particularly during night hours. Social organizations have called for fast-track court proceedings, while several voices on social media have condemned the incident, urging authorities to enhance patrolling and street surveillance in Lucknow.
This case, once again, highlights the urgent need for stricter enforcement and community vigilance to protect women and restore a sense of security in the state capital.
